Originally from the okay state of New Jersey, I've bounced all over the U.S. Actually, not really. After fleeing NJ, I lived in Oregon for a while before migrating south to North Carolina. I currently call Greensboro home with my wife, twin boys, and some unruly pets.

With the new baseball season on the horizon, I’m reminded of the time I inadvertently crushed the dreams of a top prospect. And it can all be traced back to a cupcake.

Growing up, my brothers and I were big wrestling fans. We had the action figures and stickers, and always tried to catch that Saturday morning wrestling cartoon. But while Russ was a Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka fan and Matt had his own varying personal favorites, I was always partial to Slaughter.
